A decorative concrete showcase: custom color, pattern stamping, and precision forming around a flagpole for a local Chattanooga-area business.

Project Overview
When a commercial client in the Greater Chattanooga area needed a flagpole installation that was more than just functional, they called on our team to deliver something that would make a lasting first impression. The result was a custom stamped and colored concrete pad — a decorative yet durable surface that frames the flagpole and complements the surrounding property.
This project combined the structural demands of commercial concrete work with the precision craftsmanship of decorative finishing. Every square foot had to hold up to foot traffic, weather, and years of use while looking sharp from day one.
The goal was a concrete surface that looked intentional not an afterthought. Color, pattern, and durability all had to work together.
Flagpole pads present a specific set of challenges. The concrete must be formed precisely around the pole’s base sleeve, accounting for proper drainage slope so water doesn’t pool and degrade the installation over time. Add decorative stamping and integral color into the mix, and the timing of each pour becomes critical — stamp too early and the pattern won’t hold, too late and the concrete is unworkable.
For this commercial client, the finished pad also needed to align with the overall aesthetic of the property entrance — a high-visibility area where the quality of the work would be seen every single day.
Site Preparation & Formwork
We excavated and graded the area around the flagpole base, set forms to the specified dimensions and drainage slope, and compacted the sub-base to ensure long-term stability.
Concrete Mix & Integral Color
Integral color pigment was mixed directly into the concrete not painted on after ensuring the color goes all the way through the slab. This means chips and surface wear won't expose grey concrete underneath.
Pour & Bull-Floating
The colored concrete was poured, screed level, and bull-floated to a smooth, even surface. Timing at this stage is critical for decorative work we work the surface to the exact right consistency before stamping begins.
Decorative Stamping
Using textured stamp mats, we pressed the pattern into the surface with consistent depth and alignment. The pattern was selected by the client to complement the building's existing hardscape.
